DescriptionAn oval portrait of a young man with light brown windswept hair and light blue eyes, on a peach background. The sitter wears a black jacket and white ruffled shirtfront. Image is backed with cardboard and fixed in place with a serrated tab liner. It is housed in a dark wood frame with an inner oval gilt metal rim. The frame features an attached hanging ring, with an ornamental molded gilt rose and thistle tab.
Curatorial RemarksPeter Dubois (1796-1820) was the son of Charles and Anne Hendrickson Dubois. Charles and Anne had two other children, a girl and another son, Daniel, who also died in early manhood.
