DescriptionA woman's decorative apron of thin plaid silk, in shades of bright pink, green, ivory, dark green, and dark blue, narrowly hemmed along the left, right, and bottom edges and tightly gathered to a narrow strip of silk along the top edge. The apron's original waist ties are missing.
Curatorial RemarksSilk aprons such as this brightly colored plaid were decorative rather than practical. They could be worn during social visits from friends. This apron is missing its original waist ties, which were most likely silk cording, possibly ending in tassels.
