DescriptionA basket constructed of oak stakes arranged in a traditional ribbed pattern, with narrow ash weavers, forming an overall rectangular shape with an ovoid rim and slightly pointed or "cat's head" base corners. A wide oak handle is inserted into the center sides of the basket, with the addition of a decorative woven cover along the length of the handle.
NotesThe basket includes a handwritten tag, partially illegible, noting "Fish Basket gift of ------ Erickson, Red Bank." Although described as a "fish basket," this form is more commonly known as a market basket.
