DescriptionA stark view of an H-shaped three story boarding house with a steep roof, elaborate Victorian trim on the gables, two chimneys, and two open porches in the center supported by columns. An awning protects the first floor porch, which has a sign over it that reads "Monmouth House." A second sign on the right front corner of the structure says "ROOMS," with a Bell Telephone sign hanging from it. A two story wing is attached to the right rear of the main structure, and a one story addition with a small porch to the left front. A parking lot to the right of the building features two advertising billboards. Neatly trimmed hedges form the foreground of the scene, with a utility pole supporting numerous overhead wires and a street lamp appearing left of center.
NotesThe Monmouth House was a nineteenth century summer boarding house located at 69 Riverdale Avenue in Monmouth Beach, Monmouth County.
