DescriptionA woman's quilted bonnet, of deep blue plain woven silk, with an ivory silk lining along the wide, deep brim. The brim is trimmed with a blue silk ruffle and a narrow corded edge. The crown of the bonnet is heavily quilted with thick wool batting, with eight lobed panels around a quilted circular center. A band of buckram is sewn around the inside bonnet for shaping. The bonnet also includes two wide ivory silk chin ribbons, which may be replacements for the originals.
NotesThis quilted bonnet descended within the Lott family of Monmouth County. The family name "LOTT" is inked along the inside of the bonnet brim.
