DescriptionSeven turned and tapered spindles extend from the seat through the arm piece to the bow back. Two more spindles support each arm where the back joins the arm piece, as does a baluster turned post under the flat hand rests. The seat, which has been shaped, sits on four baluster turned legs which are strengthened by two bulbous turned side stretchers connected by a bulbous turned medial stretcher to form an "H" shaped assembly. Old red paint covers an earlier mustard color finish.
Curatorial RemarksThis small chair is believed to be the "Childs Windsor Chair" from Mrs. J. Amory Haskell that appears in a late 1931 inventory of the museum contents in Freehold. There is no further reference to it in the accession records of the Association.
